Peaceful Meadow Farm sits in the beautiful foothills west of Boulder, Colorado. At an elevation of 7,400 feet we enjoy a short but spectacular summer growing season. We began farming our meadow in the summer of 2006 and opened our Saturday Farm Stand in the summer of 2007. We have just under 3/4 of an acre under cultivation and strive to farm in the most sustainable manner as possible. We are Certified Naturally Grown , run the greenhouse and shop on 100% off-the-grid solar power and our small two-wheel walk behind tractor uses bio-diesel. As well, we utilize bio-dynamic growing methods as taught by Dr. Rudolf Steiner (http://www.biodynamics.com/biodynamics.html).
We are always experimenting to determine what veggies grow best in our climate and altitude; some of our current crops include kale, collards, chard, peas, beans, lettuce, spinach, garlic, onions, carrots, radishes, beets, turnips, asian greens (mizuna, tat soi, nikko cabbage, china choi), farm sorrel, fresh herbs (mint, oregano, basil) summer squash and winter squash. In addition, we are growing tomatoes, peppers, basil and cucumbers this summer in our new greenhouse.
